Language of the conference: English
A project in the hart of Brussels nominated for a MIPIM Awards
Eco-neighbourhood Tivoli GreenCity has been living at the pace of its residents for a couple of months now. Comprising 397 housing units (of which one third are social housing units and two thirds are affordable subsidised housing units), two day-care centres, 10,000 m² public space, a 2,000 m² wooded square and 1,000 m² for local businesses, Tivoli GreenCity makes up the largest sustainable neighbourhood in the Brussels-Capital Region.
Its exemplary performances regarding resources and energy management, its added social value and its architecture have already earned the neighbourhood nine awards. Tivoli GreenCity is even expected to become the most sustainable project in the world according to the BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) certification institute. And it currently is a MIPIM Awards 2020 finalist in the ‘Best Urban Project’ category!
Benjamin Cadranel, CEO of citydev.brussels, and Wim Straetmans, Executive Director of Kairos, will present this ambitious project, which is located in the heart of Brussels and has become a reference model for the future of urban development, placing people and ecology first.
