Brussels, your global neighborhood: the priorities of the new Government of the Brussels-Capital Region
Brussels wants and must bring concrete solutions to address the environmental, social, demographic and economic challenges facing cities around the world. The Brussels Capital Region has a clear vision and decisive assets in order to achieve its transition towards the durable, inclusive and ambitious capital it is more than ever destined to become. As a city of the arts and culture welcoming more than 180 nationalities speaking more than a dozen languages, it intends to focus the energy of all urban actors in order to take its full place among the world’s metropolises. A near future that translates Brussels’ identity into exemplary and innovative urban projects that place the human being at the heart of everything must emerge from this living and creative laboratory.
In this context, the Minister-President of the Brussels-Capital Region, Rudi VERVOORT, and the Brussels Regional Secretary of State in charge of Urban Planning, Pascal SMET, will present, together with several Brussels regional public actors, the priorities of the new Regional Government and will specify the role they intend to play in this dynamic. At the heart of this presentation: the challenge of producing affordable housing.
